The Local Game : 2nd Division Amateur football from the Forest of Dean. A selection of photographs by David Cross focussing on rural England football clubs, in particular, Bream AFC as they work their way to a League and Championship victory. These types of football clubs are in decline as funds are short and the youth slowly lose interest. Most football projects are concerned with the national game, but the important aspect often over looked is the grassroots element. Here I use black and white film to capture the decisive moments of the game and the scenes on the sidelines that one day will make a great record of the events.
